Stuart O'Moore

Stuart has been involved in the Irish security industry all of his working life. His journey began in 1988 when he joined one of the countries leading electronic security manufacturers. After receiving years of quality training & support he became a senior member of their service team and within 6 years was managing the installation team.

In the mid 90's he wanted to experience other sectors within the industry and joined the countries largest manned guarding organisation. Here he experienced all aspects of static and retail security and, with guidance from his line manager, became the companies senior retail supervisor - responsible of all their Dublin City Centre contracts. He soon found himself leaning towards the retail side of the business due to its high intensity and the number of skills officers needed to perform their duties correctly. He decided to focus all his attention to retail security and joined Ireland leading sports retailer.

Stuart, who at this stage was highly experienced, brought with him expert people skills as well as qualifications in Loss Prevention, Security Management and Health & Safety. Within a relatively short space of time he became the organisations Head of Security and was responsible for over 56 stores nationwide. In 2004 he had given 10 years service and he felt that a change and new challenges were needed.

Stuart then joined a Dublin based company with 25 years experience in the industry. They had a respectable market share in the static security sector but wanted to break into the retail side of the business. Stuart was responsible for developing their new venture and began by laying firm foundations. Within months the company was awarded their first contract and soon had contracts throughout Dublin, Kildare, Westmeath, Cavan and Roscommon.

With the regulating of the industry and enactment of the Private Security Services Act 2004, Stuart and his colleague, Jim Mc Loughlin, felt that it was the perfect time to start their own business. They left their respective employer and in July 2006 Pinnacle Security Group was formed.

Jim Mc loughlin

Jim Mc Loughlin was brought up in the hospitality industry with his parents running successful hotels throughout the country. His first taste of employment was inevitably in the hotel industry and here he learned the true values of customer care, quality and teamwork.

Starting off as a concierge and barman, Jim progressed to junior and later senior management positions. His role was to create and maintain customer-driven operations and oversee the quality process. In order for the hotels to meet there financial obligations Jim had to consistently ensure the delivery of both quality and service. It was in this environment that he gained valuable experience in management, sales & marketing, human resources and budget/forecast management.

With the economic downturn in the 1980's tourism was one of the many industries affected. Hotels throughout the country were closing and Jim felt the need for a career change. After exploring a number of avenues he soon realised there was one industry that didn't seem to be affected in the same way as others - security. With crime on the increase and the Gardai under resourced, private security companies were in demand.

Jim joined a well established security company and due of his wide range of acquired skills, was soon promoted to a managerial role. He again found himself responsible for the day-to-day operations of an organisation and held this position for 5 years.

Jim found himself wanting a different challenge and joined one of the countries top fire protection equipment suppliers as part of their sales team. Within 10 months he was the companies' regional sales manager exceeding his targets by over 15%. Although he enjoyed his new role Jim was missing the excitement of the security industry and soon returned to the industry he left 3 years earlier.

He was appointed Operations Manager of a Dublin based security company and was responsible for its static security, mobile patrols and key-holding services. Jim held this position for 7 years until 2006 when he and his colleague, Stuart O'Moore, left to form Pinnacle Security.
